The question who needs to take a theory tests might sound quite stupid. But as we all know there are no stupid questions and that is why I will try to answer it. It is probably obvious that people who would like to get a driving license are obliged to take a theory test. But as there are many categories of driving licenses there are different groups of people who need to sit a theory test. If we take UK under consideration, we can distinguish such categories as: A which will grant you a possibility of driving all types of motorcycles along with mopeds. Category B-vehicles weighing no more than 750 kg (most cars are in this group). Group C for larger vehicles with trailers, D for minibuses. But that is not all. There are also other more unusual categories such as F-for agricultural tractors or H for tracked vehicles. For all those categories there are different tests. Some people may not be aware that the vehicle they are using may require a license. So as you can see there are many people who in order to drive their vehicles would have to sit a test.
